Tawas Readings
Tawas is a spiritual diagnostic tool in Hilot, the traditional healing arts of the Philippines. Our ancient ancestors used tawas as a divination tool to diagnose illnesses, psychological disorders, and many other afflictions. Often revealing the spiritual ties or cords causing the affliction, the Manghihilot (hilot practitioner) will channel remedies by prescribing specific rituals, guidance, diet, herbs, and/or physical therapy.
There are many methods of tawas. My Lola used candle wax and water. She would melt the candle wax in a spoon and throw the wax into a bowl of water and read the shapes formed in the water. I prefer the "Tawas sa Papel (Paper Tawas)" method, which involves a candle and a piece of paper. I pass the piece of paper above the flame of the candle, and images surface. We will look at those images together, see how they resonate in your life, and provide guidance to the best of my capacity.
Tawas with Tattoo Cereomony
In alignment with tattooing, Tawas is a great tool to help with clarifying your intentions for your tattoo ceremony, and reveal what no longer serves you so you may release it during ceremony. This is an optional service included with your tattoo ceremony at no extra cost. For those who choose to participate in a tawas reading, it reveals elements that help me channel your tattoo design. Regardless of whether you choose tawas or not, your design is a divine co-creation between you and me in connection with spirit (your guides and ancestors). I do encourage being in trust with your intuition. If you do have a design or specific motifs that call to you, I am open to surfacing these for you as long as it is not appropriative.
